Rowell Roofing is a commercial and industrial roofing contractor in Columbia, Mississippi. We work with on projects with building owners, general contractors, architects, and developers across the Southeast. Our team installs a wide range of commercial roofing systems, such as single-ply TPO, PVC, EPDM, two-ply modified bitumen, liquid-applied coatings, and metal roofing. We also handle leak repairs, inspections, and ongoing maintenance.

Rowell’s commitment to quality control sets us apart. We make most custom sheet metal, like flashings, gutters, and downspouts, in our own shop. This helps us guarantee a precise fit and keep projects on schedule.

We are pre-qualified for Mississippi state-level projects, and our crews have worked on schools, hospitals, plants, dealerships, and churches across the region. We choose to stay a smaller company because we believe accountability matters most at our size. Our clients appreciate this commitment.

SINCE 1978

1978

The Founding

In July 1978, H.B. Rowell opened Rowell Roofing in Columbia, Mississippi. Nearly 50 years later, Columbia is still home, and it is owned and operated by the same dedicated family.

1990s

The Second Generation

In 1995, after five years as an engineer in Texas, Randy Rowell returned home to join the company. He applied his engineering discipline to the trade, handled the numbers himself, and eventually took over leadership. In 1996, Rowell expanded and built a new office.

2000s

Weathering the Weather

In 2002, Jason Koenenn joined Rowell to continue its growth and now serves as Vice President and co-owner.

When Hurricane Katrina reshaped the Gulf South in 2005, we showed up and kept our word while the market filled with newcomers chasing the surge. We took on storm recovery across the region, including the Heritage Plastics plant in Picayune, Hancock County Schools, and the St. Tammany Parish schools in southeast Louisiana, restoring the roofs Gulf Coast communities depend on.

2010s

Trusted Where it Matters

Rowell earns pre-qualified status for state-level work, allowing its crews to work on some of Mississippi’s most important buildings, such as universities, hospitals, industrial plants, and landmarks like the State Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion.

2020s

The Third Generation

Every contractor was tested during the pandemic, but Rowell emerged leaner and more focused. By 2025, the third generation of the Rowell family was already absorbing the values and principles that shaped the company’s first fifty years, and continuing to carry that sense of purpose forward.

Today

The Standard Remains

Almost half a century after H.B. Rowell founded the company, Rowell Roofing remains a family-run business built on uncompromising integrity and reliability. Whether it’s commercial or industrial roofing, custom sheet metal, or maintenance, our team works hard to protect the buildings that matter to the Gulf South. We do this by building strong relationships, offering a single point of contact, and always keeping our promises.
